• Clean filter often – Most vacuums have at least one filter that can be rinsed/washed and reused. Be sure to check this and clean often. Replace the filter if it tears or becomes too worn.
• Check cords before use – Check the cord before every use to insure it has not torn or frayed. Replace the cord if you notice any damage to prevent shock or fires.
• Clear any loose threads or lint – Make sure that the brush is free from any tangled threads. If you can’t remove them by hand, use scissors to cut from the brush.
• Store your vacuum properly – Make sure to keep in a cool, dry place so that it is not exposed to water or moisture. If the belt gets wet, it can cause it to become brittle and crack.
• Professional repair and maintenance – Just like any other machine, professional repair and maintenance is necessary. Once every two to three years, take your vacuum to a professional for a quick check up!
