Here are some simple steps you can take to clean up your diet:

  • Use a smaller plate – This will naturally help you to eat smaller portions which will help prevent overeating.
  • Avoid sugar and processed foods – Most people consume too much sugar daily and many processed foods contain unrecognizable ingredients that can contain extra sugar or salt. Making more meals at home from scratch can help you control what is going into the dish as well as control portions. Cut up and prep ingredients ahead of time to make meal time faster.
  • Say no to sugary drinks – Swap out soda for more water! You can add fruits like lemon or lime for flavor if needed. Try to drink 4-6 glasses per day. Drinking a glass as soon as you wake up in the morning can help jumpstart your metabolism!
  • Keep healthy foods available – Stop buying and stocking the junk food in your house! Keep healthier alternatives like nuts, fruits, and vegetables available to reach for when hungry. Prep snack size portions in baggies to have them even more readily available.
  • Eat as many colors daily as you can – Bright fruits and vegetables contains lots of nutrients for a healthy diet. Increasing the amount of produce you eat daily can have a dramatic effect on your health!
