With many people “going green”, one great reusable cleaning tool is microfiber cloths.

These clothes are great at grabbing and holding onto dust, dirt, and grime!

Since the cloths are sucking up all our dirt, we need to show them some love and make sure they are cleaned properly! Below are some tips to keep your cloths in top cleaning condition!

Tips:

• Remove clumps of dust and debris: Microfiber cloths are great at attracting dust and debris. You should remove this debris by hand before putting them in the wash.
• Wash dirty microfiber cloths separately from other items: Because of the above-mentioned ability to grab dust and debris, it is suggested that you wash these separately from clothes and other items to ensure the dirt doesn’t transfer onto another item.
• Laundry washing: Water ONLY or mild detergent: Since microfiber cloths are typically used with some type of chemical to clean surfaces, you truly only need to use water to clean them. If you wish to use detergent, make sure it is a gentle or mild detergent with no additives. Wash in cool or warm water with non-cotton materials. No fabric softener or bleach!! These can ruin the effectiveness of the cloth.
• Hand washing: You can also run your cloths under warm/hot water to rinse out and clean with no soap or detergent.
• Drying: Once your cloths are cleaned, dry on low heat or simply hang them to air dry. These cloths dry fast so no need for a long cycle.
• Never Iron: Ironing your cloths, can reduce the effectiveness of the fibers or melt the fibers in the cloth.

Following those simple and easy cleaning tips, will not only preserve the life of your cloths, but help keep them in top working condition.
